In Your Corner

Someone's keeping the books. You want to know the business is in good hands.

A partner, a spouse, a family member, an office manager - someone in your world is taking care of the numbers. The records are being kept. But there's a gap between keeping records and knowing what those records mean for your business. That's what In Your Corner is for.

Is this the right fit?

In Your Corner works where someone is already managing the books - and what's needed is a professional layer above the arrangement.

This service is for business owners where a non-professional is handling the day-to-day bookkeeping. The arrangement is working. But you want confidence that the records are accurate, and you want a clear financial picture without having to produce it yourself - or ask the person doing the books to explain it to you.

It's also for the person doing the books. You gain a qualified professional you can turn to - questions answered, guidance when something doesn't look right, someone expert on your side.

If the books are seriously behind or disorganised, Let's Get You Sorted is the better starting point. In Your Corner is designed for an arrangement that's running - not one that needs rescuing first.

Professional oversight. Plain-English answers. For both of you.

One qualified person working with you and your bookkeeper - so everyone has what they need.

In Your Corner brings a financial management professional into the picture without displacing the person already in it. I work with three parties: you, the person doing the books, and your business. I make sure the books are being kept accurately, and I translate what those books are saying into something useful for you. Two separate jobs, done consistently, as part of one ongoing relationship.

The person doing your books gains an expert ally - questions answered, guidance when something doesn't look right, a professional in their corner. You get a clear financial picture without needing to understand the mechanics of how it's produced.

What this looks like in practice

A regular review of the books, a financial picture for you, and an ongoing support presence for both of you.

  • Periodic review of the books - accuracy, completeness, consistency. Anything that needs attention is raised directly with the person doing the books, constructively and without fuss.
  • A financial picture for you - plain-English summary of income patterns, cash position, anything that needs your attention or a decision. Between summaries, I'm available.
  • Ongoing support for the person doing the books - questions answered as they arise. When the software does something unexpected, when a transaction doesn't make sense, when they're not sure what to do with something.
  • Technology guidance - practical help with tools that make the job easier: receipt capture, bank feeds, reconciliation.
  • System review - periodically, a sense check on whether the setup still fits. Businesses change. Sometimes the way things are recorded needs to change with them.
  • Escalation pathway - if the review finds something that needs more than guidance, I'll say so honestly. No pressure - but no pretending either.
It grows with you

Most In Your Corner relationships continue until something changes naturally - the business grows, the arrangement evolves, or you decide you want Numerarti handling everything directly. I already know your books and your business, which makes the move to Your Finance Function lighter than starting from scratch.

If the arrangement is working and continues to work, it simply continues.

Who this is for

This tends to suit established businesses where a trusted person is managing the finances well - and where what's missing is a qualified professional above the arrangement. Not to take over. Just to make sure everyone has what they need.

Most businesses in this situation are managing fine. But fine isn't the same as confident - and In Your Corner is the difference between the two.

Pricing is individual to each arrangement - the scope and frequency are established properly before anything begins. See Ways to Work Together for a full overview.
